Grenzer the Gambling Goblin Dandy

An NPC I came up with for a little one-shot adventure for KOOKS 2d10 RPG (https://squirewaldo.itch.io/kooks-2d10-rpg):

Grenzer, the Gambling Goblin Dandy and Sometime Forest Guide (untrustworthy)

• MMD: 3d8+4, HP: 17, DM: 13, INIT: +2
• Dagger Attack: +3 (1d4+1)
• Magic Dart Artifact, 2 shots (small and hidden): +4 (1d4Exp – can be reloaded by a Conjurer Level 5 or higher)
• Gambling Power: +10

Grenzer knows the forest, but doesn’t spend that much time in it. He is a gambler, trader, and scoundrel. And very well dressed.

Gambling: Grenzer is not only a very good gambler but also has a mysterious ability to lure others into joining him in a game of chance (his favorite game is a card game called Two Dragons High) – when he suggests a game of cards the targeted Characters(s) must each roll a Skill Roll of Knowledge and Brain against a ‘Gambling Power’ roll by Grenzer (see above) to avoid getting sucked into a game – if the Character has no coins available to bet then he or she is excluded. Then Grenzer will suggest a modest bet of a few coppers on the game, and he and the participating Characters put that amount in ‘the pot’ – as the game proceeds Grenzer may slowly raise the stakes a bit but not enough to get anyone angry with him for losses. The participants(s) will then roll a Skill Roll of Craftiness and Brain (unless a player can justify another combination to the GM) and a ‘Gambling Power’ roll by Grenzer. The highest roll wins the pot. The game continues in rounds with each participant having the option of rolling the same above roll to leave the game or leaving when the Character has no more coin. When there are no more participants other than Grenzer the game ends.
