Far to the North of the shattered remains of the Barony of Breoq lies the jagged peaks of the Kam Mountains. South of the Kam Mountains lies an impenetrable unexplored jungle accessible only by the Goblinhead River which flows from the Kam Mountains though the jungles, past the ruins of Breoq, and then to sea at the Port of Black Reef, a refuge for pirates and other outcasts from the South.
Many centuries before, the Demon Lord Zugmomoth launched a war of conquest against the people of the South using the hordes of goblins living in isolated caves within the Kam Mountains. He first united them under Zugmomoth’s selected Queen, Klikieth the Mighty. Then Zugmomoth led the host out of the mountains and into the fertile plains, and crushed the humans and elves living in the Barony of Breoq.
As a reward to the goblins and Queen Klikieth, Zugmomoth founded a new city in the Kam Mountains for the goblins. High up in the Kam Mountains at the confluence of two major rivers, the Goblinhead and an unnamed river, Zugmomoth established the Goblin Hold of Kam.

The warm air rising from the jungle created a damp and slimy environment that provided the perfect environment for goblins to thrive. The mountains themselves were rich in gems and minerals, and as the goblins excavated their new Goblin Hold they became rich from what was discovered. As the population grew, they expanded their city and discovered new veins of minerals to exploit. It was the perfect location for goblins!
