At the heart of the game are dynamic Skills and Skill Checks, which are arguably the most crucial elements for overcoming challenges. Whether you’re engaging in abstract combat that keeps the action flowing, or attempting complex tasks, your Skill Rank—derived from your level, class, and race bonuses—combined with relevant Ability Stats will determine your success against varying Difficulty Classes. Dramatic moments are enhanced through the use of Advantage/Disadvantage mechanics, where two dice are rolled with either the best or worst result counted.
Harness the raw power of High Magic, where spells are readily available and do not require memorization. As a Mage, Cleric, Druid, or Illusionist, you can cast spells by expending Hit Points, or even select a favored “signature spell” for a reduced cost. Beyond individual casting, the unique Rituals system allows anyone to channel powerful magic, enabling groups to collectively share the significant HP cost of higher-level spells or perform unique acts of magic approved by the GM.
Craft your legend from a diverse array of Races such as resilient Dwarves, agile Elves, or powerful Half-orcs, each offering unique bonuses to your character’s abilities. Then choose from nine distinct Classes, including the mighty Fighter, cunning Rogue, intuitive Druid, or charismatic Bard. Multi-classing is also an option, allowing for even deeper character customization and progression by combining different class abilities. Equip your hero with a vast selection of Weapons, Armour & Shields, and essential Adventuring Equipment, with convenient “Ye Old Fast Packs” available to quickly jumpstart your journey.
